About the Leeds Library Service Tablet Lending Scheme
Digital literacy is a vital skill to participate fully in the modern world.
People who are digitally included can communicate more easily with the world around them,
access learning and job opportunities, manage, make or save money and manage and improve their physical and mental health.
But about 90,000 adults in Leeds are not online or don't have all five basic digital skills.
When asked why they are not online, surveys show the three main barriers that people face are:
- Lack of online skills/confidence
- Cost of equipment and broadband access
- Lack of interest/motivation
Our ambition for 100% Digital Leeds is a city where everyone can get online and can find the support they need to develop their digital skills and confidence.
